Will Martial Arts make my kid violent?
No way! In fact, martial arts makes kids calmer and more respectful than ever. Martial arts always has been about peace, and it always will be.
Can my child get injured with Martial Arts?
As a parent, I'm sure you've seen that kids can get injured doing just about anything. Martial arts is no different, however we take safety very seriously here. Yes, injuries do sometimes happen. But we do everything in our power to avoid them. We do special exercises and stretches to make your child's body limber and flexible.
My child isn't athletic. Can they still participate in Martial Arts if
they're not athletic?
Absolutely. Martial Arts teaches kids to be coordinated, flexible and strong. Kids who don't naturally have these qualities develop them. Kids who do have these qualities grow them even more.
Are these Martial Arts classes fun?
Yes! After all, these are children we're dealing with here. And kids love their fun. We do a variety of games and activities that have kids howling with laughter, and constantly smiling. We work hard here - but we play just as hard.

Self Defense

Q: What will I learn in Self-Defense training?
This program emphasizes easy-to-learn techniques that have been tested in real, life-threatening confrontations. Students learn verbal tactics to keep themselves safe in situations of threats, attacks, and violence or boundary violations - whether with friends, acquaintances, dates, family or strangers. You will learn basic physical techniques to use if verbal tactics are not enough. Students will have the opportunity to practice the use of physical and verbal skills in drills and simulated attack scenarios. While there is nothing flashy about the system, it is highly effective, nonetheless.
Q: Is Self-Defense for women only?
Not at all. Self-defense is taught to men, women, and children who want the absolute best training in self-protection.
Q: How do I know if Self-Defense classes are for me?
Ask yourself what you are looking for. Do you want practical self-defense techniques for real-life situations? Do you want to have the confidence and know how to prevent, de-escalate, and defend yourself when you feel threatened or scared? If so, Self-Defense training is for you. But if you're not sure, give it a try to find out. Chances are you'll love how confident and empowered you feel as a result.
Q: What if I don't have any martial arts experience?
No worries. You don't need any martial arts experience to start training in Self-Defense. That's our job... to show you how to use your voice and your body to fight back and defend yourself. The system is designed to take students with no previous experience and bring them to a level of proficiency and confidence as quickly as possible.

Tai Chi

Q: What if I am injured or have a past injury?
A: Although Tai Chi is generally safe, women who are pregnant or people with joint problems, back pain, fractures, severe osteoporosis or a hernia should consult their health care provider before trying Tai Chi. Modification or avoidance of certain postures may be recommended. Also, talk with the instructor before class to discuss your injury and limitations. We always try to offer modifications in class, but this will allow the instructor to plan or assist you during class, should you need it.
Q: What should I expect in class?
A: Your first class is typically the most challenging, regardless of what age or physical shape you are in. Even though the movements are slow and gentle, they're still new to you, your muscles are working, and it may be somewhat tiring. But don't lose heart! Most new students will tell you that they feel energized and have a great feeling of well-being after just one class. Usually by the third class, they are hooked on Tai Chi and attend regularly.
Q: How often should I come to class?
A: There are no set rules for how often to practice. Some students come almost every day while others come one to three times a week. The benefits of Tai Chi can be felt after only one class, so we believe that you will find the right number that works best for your body, schedule, and life.
Q: What exactly is Tai Chi and why should I try it?
A: Tai Chi has evolved into a graceful, meditative form of exercise that's now used for stress reduction and a variety of other health conditions. It promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing. When performed regularly, you can benefit from decreased stress, anxiety and depression; improved mood and aerobic capacity; increased energy and stamina; greater flexibility, balance and agility; and enhanced muscle strength and definition.

Q: When are the classes?
A: We have a very flexible schedule for all levels, and they are divided by age and skill level. Be sure to check our online Class Schedule for more details.
Q: Do I have to be in shape or lose weight before I begin training?
No, you don’t. We will ease you into the discipline of Kung Fu training and the initial exercises. Regardless of your fitness level, once you begin training, you’ll start to get in shape and feel immediate, positive results. Getting started in our classes is the best way to start losing weight. As you continue your training, maintaining your ideal weight will be much easier.
Q: Am I too old to start learning Kung Fu?
A: We have students from ages 5 to 65 training in their respective classes. Regardless of your age, the training will make you feel great. It’s an excellent way to improve your overall health, not to mention the benefit of learning how to protect yourself.
Q: Is Kung Fu difficult to learn?
A: Not at all! You’ll find our classes to be fun, exciting and rewarding. Our instructors will guide you through our step-by-step curriculum of belt levels and help you achieve your personal goals.
